Kaye Scott is an Australian Professional boxer and the current unified WBC and WBA middleweight champion. Scott was a successful amateur boxer and won many medals in various weight categories, including the World Championships and Commonwealth Games. She has also won two World Championship silver medals, as well as Commonwealth silver and bronze medals. Scott became professional in November 2023, winning the Australasian and Australian middleweight titles. Later, Scott was defeated in 2024 by Desley Robinson via Unanimous decision. Following her loss, she managed to pull a draw in the next match against Olivia Curry. However, Scott won the WBC and WBA middleweight titles in a December 2025 rematch with Olivia Curry by majority decision.
Claressa Shields is an American professional boxer who is considered one of the best female boxers. In the Olympics, she has won two gold medals. Shields is the first American boxer to win consecutive Olympic gold medals, in 2012 and 2016. After joining professional boxing in 2016, she has won world championship titles in five different weight categories. Shields is the only female boxer to have all four world titles (WBA, WBC, IBF, and WBO) in three weight classes. She is set to fight against Kaye Scott for the unified WBA and WBC middleweight titles in August 2026.
Shields is undoubtedly the favorite boxer heading into this fight. Not only does she have the big championships and the best technique, but she has also consistently dominated her opponents. Scott has experienced an extraordinary rise to fame, having unified the WBA and WBC middleweight titles. However, she still hasn't faced an elite opponent with the kind of experience and championship that Shields has.
The only concern is whether Shields will be able to adapt to middleweight after competing at heavyweight for so long. It has been proven that fighters can suffer greatly from their weight decrease. Anyhow, Shields has too many skills and strengths compared to Scott.
Shields is likely to win the fight against Scott and take back the WBA and WBC middleweight titles.
Pick: Claressa Shields via Unanimous decision (UD).
